Announcing the 2016 4T Closing Keynote: Bill Van Loo
Be Brave: What it takes to make future makers
Bill Van Loo is a maker, teacher, musician and photographer. He is currently employed as the Technology and Engineering teacher at A2 STEAM, a K-8 project-based learning school that Ann Arbor Public Schools started in 2014. As a teacher, he focuses on empowering students through technology and the engineering process.
Bill graduated from Michigan Technological University with a BA in Scientific and Technical Communication in 1997, then worked as a Web developer for 8 years before switching careers to education. He began his teaching career after earning a post-baccalaureate teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan's Technology and Design Education program in 2005, and has been teaching students K-8 since then. Bill is currently completing his Master's in Educational Media and Technology at Eastern Michigan, focusing on student empowerment and maker culture.
