Academics Reminders

Attention parents, progress reports will be sent home with your student on Wednesday, September 19, so please ask them for it when they get home! You can always check Skyward for the most up to date information on their grades.

Attention students and parents, over the next three weeks, students in grades 7-10 will be taking the NWEA MAP test in Reading, Language Usage, Science, and Math. This will give us a starting point for where students are academically, and we will be able to measure their growth over the year. The data is also used to determine tutorials, as well placement in advanced coursework.

Traffic Flow

Parents, please make sure you are following the traffic flow when dropping off and picking up your students. Drop off should only be at the designated crossing areas. Do not drop off your students where there is no traffic guard

Home visit season is here

Call us to schedule your home visit !
Our teachers are making home visits in order to better meet the needs of the child and family. In promoting a partnership between parents and teachers, home visits provide the means for effective team problem solving, observing children in their home environment, and encouraging parent involvement. It also creates a personal bond between the students, parents, and teachers to ensure optimum success. In addition, it provides a sense of security for the parents to know that their children are in good and caring hands, and allows the parent to give feedback on their student’s academic experience.

important message from attendance clerk

Attendance Clerk Mrs.Viviana Olvera

Is your student absent today?

In general, there are two things school needs you to do if your student is going to be absent:

Call the school and report your child absent:

Please call (817) 354-3000 by 9:00 a.m.on the first and each day your student is absent or email the Attendace Clerk at: volvera@harmonytx.org

Why are absence calls necessary?

Excessive absences are considered truancy under state law, the school reserves the right to take extreme absence cases to court. For detailed attendance information please read the Harmony Public Schools student handbook pages 13-15. We really appreciate receiving those calls and emails about absences first thing in the morning as it helps us ensure the safety of all of our students. Thank you!

Send a Written Note:

Upon returning to school, the student must bring a note, signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. A note signed by the student, even with the parent’s permission, will not be accepted.

Please do not send notes on post its, index cards or torn pieces of paper. Notes must be received within three days of the absence or the absence will be unexcused.

Extended Absence

Are you planning to take your student out of school for an extended absence? Pre-plan multiple day absences (for any reason) require advance approval by our Principal. Please call 817-354- 3000 or stop by the front office and we will walk you through the authorization process and arrange for homework to be prepared for your student to take with them.

Reminder !

Parents please be mindful of the weather. We highly encourage for students not to be dropped off too early, or to be picked up too late. We want to keep our students safe and healthy, and do not want them unsupervised in cold temperatures
