We were just watching the movie Robots (for the 752nd time) and the line that popped out to me was "See a need, Fill a need!" Well, in this edition, you will see lots and lots of opportunities (needs!). So see if you know someone who can fill them, be it yourself or someone you know!
Spring has sprung! This is a long one, but it is so full of stuff you just are going to want to read it all... take it is stages... read a couple of articles a day, click on the green bars for more info, and don't forget the funnies...that is the reward for getting all the ay through the newsletter! No skipping articles to get to the bottom!
In this newsletter, each of the green bars you see, are really buttons that open new web pages to other sites and more information! So click and enjoy... your main newsletter will stay open on its own page! Let me know if they don't work for you...or anything else you might want to see!!
Blessings!
Fellow LF Alum - Hollis
Clayton's Corner
Hey LF Alumni! Here are seveal things I encourage you to help lead us and set the example!
1) Help us build cross generational fellowship opportunities. One of the reasons we built the new space was a desire to have more opportunities to connect across ages. On Sunday mornings we would like to see more people of all ages mingling together in Coleman Family Hall. Instead of going straight from car to worship and Sunday school and then back to car, spend a few minutes in Coleman Family Hall each week meeting and visiting with people you know and people you don't know. Stop by the Cafe. Even if you don't drink a cup of coffee it is a place where the welcoming aspect of our church can come alive as people of all generations mingle together in Christian fellowship. It is a great place to spend a few minutes "pouring into" others.
2) Help encourage an invitational spirit. Invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers to church. Be especially mindful of invitational moments like Easter, concerts (Annie Moses on April 2), children friendly events (Easter Egg Hunt), men's or women's gatherings, etc. Our new facilities are a wonderful opportunity for us to reach out and include new people.
3) Help us promote Access. We really want to see Access thrive in the amazing new Worship and Arts Center. Spread the word. Take a Sunday or two and attend to give them encouragement.
4) Thank you to our Leadership First Alums for your putting your faith in action, using your gifts, and being leaders in the church and in the world.
Blessings on you all,
Clayton Oliphint

ACCESS MODERN WORSHIP
The last several months have been incredibly exciting. Over 50 people brand new to FUMCR worshiped with Access in the first 4 weeks after opening, and we've seen many individuals and families at Access who have not been active at church lately but are now re-engaging. This is why we built these new facilities! The Worship and Arts Center has also hosted the youth choir dessert theater performances, the monthly senior adult Gathering, a parent meeting for children's ministry, and more. Thank you so much for making these facilities possible! They're such a blessing to our ministries.
I'd love your continued help in being ambassadors for our church and Access in particular. Who can you invite to church? How can you help people feel welcome at church from the parking lot to wherever they're going? How can you help connect people you meet with others at church?
Thanks for all your leadership!
Rich

NEW>> Campus Ambassador Volunteers Needed
We starting a new opportunity and would like to have Campus Ambassadors (volunteers) assist our guests, and monitor the campus during business hours. With the increase in the size of our campus, we would like someone to walk the grounds and be additional “eyes and ears” throughout the facilities.
This is not security, but someone walking the campus looking for any issues that should be brought to our attention. (Examples of issues may include doors left open, guests that somehow cause reason for concern, emergencies where 911 should be called.)
In addition, our large campus can be confusing to visitors, so these volunteers would help create a welcoming environment and escort our guests to their events, meetings, etc. as needed. Finally, our welcome desk may need to step away for a moment and it would be wonderful not to have to leave the desk unmanned.
THE DETAILS:
• Shifts are in 4 hours blocks ( 8:30 AM to 12:30PM OR 12:30 PM to 4:30PM) during business hours only. (Monday through Thursday 8:30AM to 4:30 PM and Friday 8:30 AM to 12:30PM)
• You can work as many shifts as you would like.
• You would be responsible for finding your own sub (from the pool of current volunteers and a sub list) if you have to miss your shift.
• Training will be provided.
If you are interested please contact mwalker@fumcr.com or my cell phone is 972-740-7350! I am happy to answer any questions if you have them!
