Wildcat Roar
NEWS AND INFO FOR WILDCAT STAFF 3.25
BUT, we still have to make it through this week. Even though we're all ready for a vacation, it is critical that we avoid slacking off this week. We should be even more tight on procedures, protocols, transitions, and schedules. Be sure to follow the schedule for transitions and refrain from randomly extending periods, failing to switch classes, etc. Maintaining consistency is always important, but as we've learned through ARC training, rituals and routines are particularly important for students experiencing trauma. Let's be sure that we are doing everything we can to set students up for success.
As a result, Chromebook carts AND all computer labs will be unavailable Tuesday until noon (or later). See Ms. Phillips for information about availability. Lunch and connections schedules will not be impacted. I will meet VERY briefly with 7th and 8th grade teams to go over simulation procedures during your planning time. This should not take longer than 15 minutes.

May...
- 17 - 8th Dance
- 20 - 7th Field Day
- 21 - 6th and 7th Awards, 8th Field Trip
- 22 - 6th Field Day
- 23: 8th Field Day
- 24: 8th Awards
This is just another reminder of testing dates:
- GMAS - 5/1 - 5/16. Please do not schedule ANY field trips, events, personal absences, etc. during this time period. While all grade levels are not testing at once, it is possible that staff may need to be moved around to accommodate the amount of small groups that may be needed. Any staff member with any certification may be used for testing at any time during this window, including paraprofessionals, support staff, and administrators. Please assume that you are involved in testing and be pleasantly surprised if you are not needed. Of course this has already been stated repeatedly and is in the handbook, but no absences will be approved during testing or the last week of school. All testing dates are considered critical dates and all staff members are expected to be present.
Please click HERE for a link to a shared document that will track each of the required steps that need to take place PRIOR to a child receiving a failing grade on a report card. It is simple to use. Add a child's name to the form and an X to the boxes that are complete. You can also add any comments or notes that would be helpful for admin to know. Most importantly, we will use this information to make sure we are doing everything possible to support our students. Students should be held accountable for their own learning, but it also is up to us to maintain the belief that every child can succeed. Passively allowing a student to fail is not an option.

What is TedEd?
TED-Ed is TED’s youth and education initiative. TED-Ed’s mission is to spark and celebrate the ideas of teachers and students around the world. Everything we do supports learning — from producing a growing library of original animated videos , to providing an international platform for teachers to create their own interactive lessons, to helping curious students around the globe bring TED to their schools and gain presentation literacy skills, to celebrating innovative leadership within TED-Ed’s global network of over 250,000 teachers. TED-Ed has grown from an idea worth spreading into an award-winning education platform that serves millions of teachers and students around the world every week.
