Important Reminders
- Each night, the white folder will come home with your child, along with their agenda. The agenda will have assignments and spelling words written in it. The folder will have the actual homework papers and any other important papers to take home or to return to school. Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation.
- Homework this week: Reading homework and spelling homework, due on Friday. There is no math homework because students need to study for the science test on Thursday. A study guide went home last Tuesday, it was green. Additional study materials will come home before the test.
- THANK YOU to all of our room parents and helpers on Friday! The students loved the party and it was a huge hit! Thank you for all of your hard work, preparation on the day of, and donations. I appreciate everyone's help, and the kids looked so cute in their costumes. The next class party will be the winter holiday party in the morning of the last day of school before winter break I believe.
- We will be practicing lockdown drills at school three times this week.
- Looking ahead: The Ohio state test for third grade students (the AIR reading test) will be given on the computers on November 10th and November 11th. Please make sure your child is present on those days as much as you can. Thanks!
- I will be out of town this Thursday and Friday for an out-of-state wedding. The students will be in the very capable hands of Mrs. Eyre, substitute extraordinaire! Please let me know if your child will be absent on those days and I can get work ready ahead of time. I will probably not be responding to Class Dojo messages from Nov. 3-6.
Thanks,
Mrs. Reiber

What we are learning in Room 12 this week...
This is the area of the weekly newsletter where parents/guardians can be informed of what is planned for our week. If your child is ever going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We started our next math unit about measurement and time. We are starting to learn how to measure things in grams and kilograms. Please continue practicing multiplication facts at home, (x1 through x10), from our previous unit.
- Reading - We will incorporate a few holiday themed stories this week! We will also prepare for the Ohio state reading test (the AIR test) on the computers by working on a few practice questions.
- Writing/Spelling - Students will have new spelling words in their agendas on Monday. This week's spelling test will be held on Friday. For writing class, we are continuing to create strong sentences and learn about what makes for interesting writing.
- Science - The science test about natural resources will be held on Thursday. Study materials have already come home and we will send everything from the science folder home this week to look over. We will begin our next unit which is a Social Studies unit about government.
