Cottonwood's Staff would like to Wish Everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving
Greetings Cottonwood Families
Cougar Families,
October has been a great month, we all had a great time at the Fall Festival, and our Boo Grams and Track or Treat have been a great success. Our 5th, 6th and 7th graders are enjoying Pathfinders and having a great time with teachers and friends. Thank you everyone for all of the help to get the trip off the ground and for helping to fundraise for it.
As you may have heard from our Superintendent, Dr. Barrett, safety is our focus this year for our scholars, staff, and families. Part of that is making sure that everyone coming on-site and picking up kids is properly identified. Please ensure that if you or anyone else are picking up your child, they are on the emergency contact card and have proper ID.
Families, please continue to listen to your children read each night so we can see the growth that is possible with reading every day. Continue to ask them questions about what they are reading and help them clarify anything they don't understand. Reading opens so much for our scholars and gives them access to so much more in life.
I hope you all have a great November and enjoy the time off with your family during our Veterans' weekend next week and Thanksgiving week. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything.
Mr. Trudel

For the month of November Cottonwood will focus on the Character Trait of Forgiveness. Forgiveness means letting go of bitterness and revenge. When you are focusing Forgiveness, you will:
- Acknowledge the pain
- Choose to forgive.
- Not seek revenge.
- Ask for forgiveness when I do wrong.
- Move on with life.
In order to help us reinforce Forgiveness feel free to send in pictures of your child demonstrating Forgiveness to (aniaves@hemetusd.org) so that we can celebrate their efforts.
