Hello Lin Howe Families! It’s Book Fair time!

WHAT: A bookstore, in real life, right in our school library, like it used to be (with modifications because … COVID)

WHEN: Monday to Friday, October 25-29

All students will visit with their classes. We will have limited visits for families AFTER school, from 3:15 to 5:00PM. To sign up for family visits: tiny.cc/rocketintoreading

WHERE: Our school library

WHY: Books are awesome and kids love them! And it helps our school. Twenty percent of the proceeds go back to the school exclusively for purchasing books for the library.

DONATIONS: We want to include every member of our school community in the book fair. In the past, some of our students have not been able to afford participating in the Book Fair and our goal is to get books to those students. If you are interested in donating, please contact us!

GIFT CERTIFICATES: If you would like to send your child to the fair with a gift certificate instead of cash, you can. To order gift certificates, email us at LWHbookfair@gmail.com and we accept Paypal: linhowepta@yahoo.com

Please include in your email the following information:

Child’s Name/Grade/Teache

Value of gift certificate and if Books Only (we have a few non book items such as pens, pencils, erasers, bookmarks)

Please note: The gift certificates must be used during the Book Fair and no refunds will be issued if not used during the current book fair.

Environmentalists agree that an important action we can take to combat climate change is to adopt a plant-based diet

Environmentalists agree that an important action we can take to combat climate change is to adopt a plant-based diet. Habits of Waste, an L.A.-based nonprofit create the #8meals challenge. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. If we all decreased our animal protein intake by even 40-50% we could make significant progress in reversing climate change.
If we all swapped 8 meals per week to plant-based then collectively we can do more than a few of us going fully vegan.
Check out this #8meals challenge, you can even download the app and get plant-based recipes!

Join our next CCUSD Environmental Sustainability Committee meeting on Thurs. Oct. 21st, 2021 from 5-6.30pm. Contact: sustainability@ccusd.org for details. Everyone is welcome!
