Senioritis - do you have it?
This year is going by quickly, hopefully you are enjoying every ounce of it! However, this can also be a time of year when seniors are feeling the strain of 12 years of school and are excited and ready for graduation. Don’t slip into the trap of “senioritis”.
High School Seniors - Don’t let senioritis get you down
Sometimes students want to “lighten their load” and drop challenging classes second semester, or take a senior privilege. Be cautious of schedule changes senior year. College acceptance is partly based on the rigorous schedule and classes that you submitted on your application. Changing your course-load could affect the colleges decision. At the end of the year, you will have to submit your final transcript - don’t let there be surprises to your college admission office. Don’t change your schedule, or communicate with your college admission office and Mr. Hornickel when making changes.
Income Taxes…do you need to file?
Many seniors have been working part time jobs and earning a significant amount of money. Minors only NEED to file if they’ve made more than the standard deduction amount…but they CAN file to receive a refund. The form is easy to complete and you probably practiced it in Personal Finance. Plus it’s great preparation for “adulting” and you might get a nice refund.
