Lee, Rogers, Wiley Newsletter
Week of December 10th
What's Happening?
Please keep a close eye on the weather this weekend. If winter weather causes school to close on Monday, it will be a Digital Learning Day. Students will be required to visit each of their teachers' eClass pages to access their work for the day. Teachers will be available through eClass using the message feature on the Activity Feed on their main eClass course page. The activity feed is the way our students have accessed their word study homework this year for Mrs. Lee. Each teacher will have this on their home page.
As the weather begins to get colder, it is required that students are dressed appropriately for recess in order to go outside with the group. Please encourage your child to bring a heavy coat and wear pants (not shorts) on the cold days ahead.
Our Winter Parties are on December 19th from 1:00-2:00. Please remember that siblings should not attend classroom parties.
In this week's Friday Folder:

Science and Social Studies with Ms. Wiley
This week, students learned about the Great Depression, the stock market crash of 1929, Hoovervilles, and soup kitchens. Next week, we will continue learning about the Great Depression. Specifically, the dust bowl, the New Deal, and influential people of the 1930s. The Great Depression Test will be on Wednesday, 12/12. The study guide and answer key are on eClass for students to begin studying nightly. This will be our final SS test for the semester.
Science:
Students have reviewed their Genetics (Learned and Inherited Traits) test in class and written down the retake date, 12/14, in their agendas. In order to retake this assessment students must complete the Summative Mastery Ticket and submit all attached work to me on the retake date. Remember, students are only allowed to retake 2 assessments per subject, per semester.
Looking ahead: Our final science unit for the semester will be focused on Physical and Chemical Changes. We will be working through various experiments in class that will count as a project grade for the unit.
