A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA

Week of April 15, 2019

A Message from Principal Grey:

Have you seen our new Maker's Cart in our soon to be STEAM Lab at Grant? It is equipped with materials like dowels, pullies, gears, markers, paints, wires, wheels, fasteners, propellers and SO MUCH MORE!

You can help our STEAM Lab dreams come true by contributing to our fund to hire a Science Coordinator. This educator will support an early introduction to engineering, exploratory learning, coding, tinkering, and collaboration. No donation is too small for a vision this BIG!

Grant PTA Meeting, 4/18

Meet up in the library at 6pm this Thursday to hear from Grant's Principal and teachers. Find out what's going on and how you can get involved. See you there!

Hooray for a decrease in tardies!

We are proud to announce that tardies have decreased in the past few weeks and we have YOU to thank! We know how crazy mornings can be, how jammed up the drop-off lane is and how our side streets get all blocked up during busy times. That's why we are even more proud and grateful for your effort to have your students at school on time and ready to learn. Thank you!

State Testing for grades 3-6

State Testing for grades 3-6 begins next week! Your students have been preparing in class and we know they will do a fantastic job. Our teachers promote perseverance, grit and focus on all assignments during the year, and the CAASSPP test is no different. Please help your student do their best by encouraging full nights of sleep and healthy breakfasts.

Perhaps most importantly, please do not schedule appointments for your student during the school day in the next 3 weeks. Your student will have to make up the test at a different time and that can be challenging. If you already have an appointment scheduled and it cannot be moved, please let your teacher know as soon as possible.

Things to do Online:

Here at Grant, we are always looking for ways to improve and reflect on the school year. We would love to collect your feedback so that we can create goals for next year and beyond! Below is the link to the school survey.
