Our last day of school prior to Spring Break is Friday, March 17. There is no school the week of March 20-24. School resumes on Monday, March 27.

Lake Cable along with all schools in the Jackson Local School District, will once again be participating in the St. Baldrick’s event to raise funds for childhood cancer research. The event will be held in person this year at the North Canton Racquet Club on March 12, 2023, from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Students in grades 3,4,and 5 are participating in state-mandated testing required by the Ohio Department of Education. It is important that each child get a sound night of sleep and have a hearty breakfast in preparation for testing days. Please be sure your child comes to school with a fully charged Chromebook on their testing dates. The schedule for testing is listed below.

Unpaid fee invoices are being sent home with students on Mar 10. Fees can be paid by check made out to Jackson Local Schools and sent in with your student, or you may click this link to pay fees online.

On our district website, the Kindergarten Registration link goes live Feb 1. There has been a change to our entrance date for kindergarten. A child is eligible for entrance into kindergarten if s/he turns five (5) on or before August 1st of the year in which s/he applies for entrance. The Board may admit a younger child to kindergarten if the child satisfies the Board's early entrance criteria.

The end of the third marking period is Friday, March 17, 2023. As teachers finalize student grades, the Home Access Center (HAC) parent view will be turned off.. On Friday, March 31, 2023, parents will be able to view their child’s grades for the third grading period.

If you have not created a HAC account, please use these directions to create one. If you have already created an account, but you are unsure of your login credentials, please click the "Forgot My Username or Password" link in the HAC.

Spring Book Fair: Week of March 13th

The Backpack Food Program, a partnership with RiverTree Jackson, is a service we are pleased to offer families of Jackson Local Schools.The program’s goal is to provide a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for children over the weekend. There are no income requirements for this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school and be sent home with them on Fridays. To apply for the Backpack Food Program, please complete this quick application. Please submit one form per child. If you have questions, please email @backpacks@rivertreechristian.com

From May 30-June 2, Strausser Elementary will host Camp Invention. This is for all Jackson Local students who will enter 1st-6th grades in the 23-24 year. For more information, please see this flyer.
