Additional Questions
Because we are not interview judging, it is suggested that you answer the following questions so that the judge can learn more about your project and judge it better! If you do not answer these, you will not be penalized but could significantly improve your ribbon placing. Answer on a piece of notebook paper. May type and print out also.
1.How did you make this project? (especially for those items that required some really challenging techniques or would help judge understand what you did)
2.What did you learn?
3.What do you like the most about this project?
Required Documents
Many static exhibits have required documents. Failure to include these documents or information will lower you a ribbon placing. Some examples include:
Home Environment - additional card (link found below)
Photography - tag about photo (link found below)
Foods - recipe
Horticulture and Floriculture - Cultivar on the entry tag
Woodworking - plans
There are many others!
Check the fair book for information to find out if you need extra information!!
Additional Identification Tag
On each item make sure you securely attach a small piece of paper with the following information:
Name
Age
Class Number
Class Description
Pin, tape, or use other means to secure this paper in a spot that does not distract nor ruin the project.
Static Exhibits Selected for State Fair
This year items going to state fair will not receive a premium. Special awards will be given out - some will have cash awards! We really want to take anything that qualifies if we are able so we can fill the entire Morrill County booth. However, we are not allowed to take food, horticulture, or large items. Those will be displayed virtually instead.
If you item is selected to go to State Fair, please leave it in the exhibit hall Friday night. We will load and store at the office until it is time to go to State. If you chose for your exhibit not to go, please take it home and it will be submitted as a picture only.

CALLING ALL EXHIBITORS
You have the opportunity to share your favorite project with the whole state this year!!!
We know this year has been unique, but we also know 4-H members have been working hard on their projects all year long. We are so proud of the work 4-H youth have done across the state despite challenging circumstances. We want to honor the work our youth have done by providing a platform to highlight their exceptional projects and the valuable learning opportunities they have experienced. This showcase allows all enrolled youth, ages 8-18, to showcase a project they have learned a lot from this year or that they are particularly proud of. All projects are eligible regardless of the award they received through judging or the ability to have that project judged at the county level. So, pick out your favorite 4-H project and let us know why it's your favorite and what you learned in 4-H this year for a chance to be showcased at the 2020 Nebraska State Fair.
We'll need a few details:
- Name
- 4-H age
- County
- Project area
- 1 photo of the project
- Description of your project
- Why did you choose to highlight this project?
- What did you learn from completing your 4-H project(s) this year?
Projects submitted prior to August 10 will be showcased at the 2020 Nebraska State Fair. Projects may still be submitted after August 10th for a chance to be showcased by Nebraska 4-H on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Go to https://4h.unl.edu/project-showcase for more information and the submission form.
