John Locke
John Locke was a enlightened philosopher and writer. He wrote the book Treatises of Government. This book tells about the government being a social contract between citizens and rulers. He believed that the nature of man was based on reason, logic, and tolerance. He also, believed that all "men" had" the natural rights of life, liberty, and property. Locke believed that if the government didn't protect the natural rights of the people that the people had the duty to replace the government.
