Monday Memo
Week of November 11th- November 15th
Greetings, CCE!
Continuous improvement is already being identified not only during the Response to Intervention (RtI) meetings, Data Meetings, and Progress Monitoring 1 Screener Data that is being conducted this week to wrap up! Thank you for the patience as technology catches up across the district to the software demands and student usage of chromebooks. Remember that we are one BIG team and supporting each other is what makes the difference.
Greg and I have been continuing to visit classrooms to look for ways to support teachers. We are seeing lots of great things going on and want to encourage everyone to keep the momentum going. Gloria has also shared lots of great things going on in the classroom. Check out the pictures further down in the memo.
Thank you to teachers who have submitted their action plans from the TPRI/TEJAS Lee or IA Data! Rather than Greg and I coming in and hoping to see the plans in action, then missing it (whole group, small group, individual group), please click on this link and fill in when you are planning to pull your small group to support the work that you did in following through with your action plans.
The benefit of meeting with students in small group during your guided reading practices, guided math practices and powerhour time is crucial to targeting student groups that need support in filling in academic holes. All teachers should be pulling small groups to their teach table/area during instruction, please reach out to your grade level leads, Gloria, or Greg and I if you have any questions or need clarification about this. Small group works!

4. Looking Ahead with PlanBook- January will be the start of all teachers using PlanBook for lesson planning without exception. We will be using the lesson plan templates that are built into the system rather than uploading lessons into the system to reference. Thank you to those already using PlanBook, your transition will be smoother because of this practice this semester.
In the meantime, if you are uploading lesson plans into PlanBook during this transition using a google document, google sheets, etc. please make sure to open sharing options. Gloria, Greg and I have not been able to open documents when we go in to see lessons in Planbook.
5. Incorporate Financial Literacy Ideas & TEKs into your Math Classroom. Check out these FREE Webinars from the Texas Council on Economic Foundation Here.
6. Are you an Instructional Assistant and Interested in becoming a Teacher? Check out this flyer to learn about an opportunity that may work for you.

Cross-Curricular Connections in Mrs. Cotton's Class!
Mrs. Cotton incorporating social studies and math. Students learned about our current elections and then practiced voting as they voted for their favorite colors. Students compared the results and shared sentences of what color had more or fewer votes. Kudos, Mrs. Cotton!
Small "Grouping" in Action!
Mrs. Garza providing small group intervention in math. Students are practicing 3-digit subtraction with regrouping. Keep filling in those gaps, Mrs. Garza! You rock!
