Richfield Middle School Online Orders
Safety: As a district, we have spoken to the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department for guidance and they approve of the safety measures being put in place by Network Photography and HHASD.
All photographers will be at least 6 ft. from our students while taking their picture
Students will sit or stand, depending on age, at the designated spot, remove their mask for pictures, and then replace their mask
Photographs will take 5-15 seconds to complete for each student
See the Network Photography Safety Policies for other ways we are working together to put student safety first!
Yearbook: All students will be photographed for inclusion in the HHASD yearbook. You do not need to place a personal order to be included. Please contact Jeni Kastner, kastner@hhasd.org, or Jodie Dietrich, dietrich@hhasd.org, if you have any concerns.
Virtual Students: Virtual students, as well as any students absent on Picture Day, will have their picture taken on November 18th. November 18th is our Picture Retake Day and will be held at both schools.
If you would prefer to have photographs taken at their studio, Network Photography will schedule appointments beginning November 30th. Appointments are 5 minutes in length and are scheduled directly with the studio by calling 262-677-8662.
RMS Google Meet Livestream Info
Students should go to: meet.google.com (or click on the meet link in the waffle menu of their email) and join using the Meet Nickname listed on the document linked below.
Please note: Specials do not live stream. Students should check their Google Classroom for lessons from their specialist teachers.
Students,
To help you when you are learning from home the teachers have created a quick guide to help you get connected to their live stream sessions during the school day.
Please look at this document because access to your teacher's Meet may have changed. The nicknames provided will start Monday morning, so please be prepared for your Meets. We will continue to use these nicknames until further notice.
If you have problems accessing any Meet, please let your teacher know and email me. If I am available I will help you try to connect as soon as possible so you do not miss too much instructional time.

Calling All Veterans! Veteran's Day Pictures!
RMS Veterans Day Penny Challenge!
Last year we celebrated with an AMAZING combined Veteran's Day program for our HHASD students, families, and community veterans. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to gather in large groups this year, but we will continue to support our Veteran's at each school this year.
RMS will have a Penny Challenge that runs the month of October. Monetary donations will be collected in each classroom and the winning classroom will receive a patriotic prize!
Donations will go to Wounded Warriors Family Support and their programs in response to veteran families affected by COVID-19.
We hope everyone accepts the CHALLENGE and supports our local and national veterans!
On 8/31/2020 the U.S.D.A. announced waivers nationwide to allow districts to offer free meals to students through the National School Lunch Program's Seamless Summer Option. Through this program, meals are served at no charge to all students and the waivers are allowed through December 31, 2020, or until funds are exhausted. The program will begin automatically and there is no need to enroll.
The HHASD, at the time of this announcement, was not equipped staffing wise to offer this type of program. The district now finds itself at a point where we can offer free meals to our current face-to-face students and our virtual students only under the 'closed enrolled' status. The district can not be an open site at this time due to staffing constraints.
The offering of free meals will start October 1, 2020 and end on or before December 31, 2020. Students that have taken a lunch or breakfast in the month of September will have those meals charges reversed. Milk purchases are exempt from this program.
Virtual Learners Curbside Meal Program
In conjunction with the Summer Seamless Meal Program, our HHASD Virtual Learner families can use the link to place their Curbside Meal orders on a weekly basis. Orders must be placed between 9 AM Friday and 9 AM Monday. One survey completed for each child.
Information can be found permanently under the COVID -19 tab on our website.
Birthday Treats!
Due to COVID-19, students can celebrate their birthday with their class if the treat has been INDIVIDUALLY factory wrapped/sealed. Students can not pass out home-baked birthday treats of any kind this year.
We do enjoy celebrating our student birthdays and half-birthdays each morning during our morning announcements!
COVID-19 Update
Having a singular symptom of a cough, shortness of breath/trouble breathing, loss of sense of taste or smell or in combination with another symptom, would mean a 10 day + 24 hour quarantine period.
Any COVID testing typically will require a 4-5 day wait and requires a PCR test. A rapid test negative result is not acceptable at this time.
When to get COVID testing:
- If you are asymptomatic, wait 4-5 days to be tested so that you don't get a false negative for possibly testing too early.
- If you start experiencing symptoms, but only minor, still wait the 4-5 days to be tested.
- If you have multiple symptoms or a major symptom, please do NOT wait to be tested.

Below you will see two guiding documents that outline the expectations relating to health and safety protocols. We are looking to partner with families as we ask families to please keep your child home if he/she is displaying symptoms. Students will be informally monitored by the classroom teacher and sent to the office for more official screening if displaying symptoms.
If students have two or more symptoms he or she will need to be picked up and must follow these criteria:
**Remain out of school for 10 days and be symptom-free for 24 hours prior to returning.
OR
**Have a negative COVID test result.
