Club News
It's been a couple of busy weeks for the club with the 1985-89 Seniors Reunion and FBT 30 years sponsorship acknowledged on the 8th June.
Both of these were a great success and enjoyed by all with the reunion team having a special luncheon for the former players followed by the presentation of the special playing jersey's to current players, then well attended social activities at the Club along with a lively auction of the special playing jerseys. These were a huge hit with many going for large sums. Then a great night to finish off.
With past and present FBT staff along for the day a presentation was made of a framed jersey, commemorating the long involvement with the club. This is something that is not taken lightly and the club is very grateful for this involvement.
Last week saw the club invite all Sponsors and Calf Rearer's to enjoy the day's events, this also coincided with a special presentation to Simon Marsh on 200 games as Asst Manager for the Premier Team. We congratulate Simon on this achievement and welcome him to the 200's Club.
All of these photo's from both days have been put on our Facebook page thanks to Coco Talk.
This week see's the Prem's and Div 1 travel to Okato to take on Coastal. There is a supporters bus leaving the club rooms at 10:30am to be at Okato Domain in time for the Legends Game at 12noon - rumour has it that a few of those 1985-89 team may be making an appearance.
With the last round game and home game against NPOB at home on the 29th June and our last club social event for the year. Start dusting off your cowboy boots and get ready for a good night out! Soul Rebel will be there to keep the party going with some great tunes all night long.
In saying that and although the Senior Rugby has just about finished, Junior will continue for a while yet along with the Netball just getting going in their first round of competition games. As a club we would encourage everyone to get along to continue to support our netball teams on Thursday & Friday nights, along with Saturday and Monday night social teams.
Premier Rugby
After two wins and two losses in the second round, the Prems went into last Saturday’s home game against Spotswood United lying equal third with New Plymouth Old Boys, behind Coastal and Spotswood. However, despite delivering some excellent rugby and recovering from an early deficit to hold Spotswood at 22 all midway, they eventually went down 29-41.
We currently sit 6th on the table but only three points separate the third and fifth places. This Saturday we are away to Coastal, then a home game against NP Old Boys on 29 June, both must-wins to ensure a position in the play-offs.

Div 1 Rugby
In the Division 1 competition, our Senior B Team is currently sitting second equal with Spotswood United. This followed a well-deserved win over Spotswood United at home last Saturday (19-7).
With some impressive victories in the second round, the boys are looking for winning results in their final two games against current leaders Coastal and NP Old Boys.
