The History Behind Taj Mahal
The indian ruler, Shah Jahan ordered the Taj Mahal built in memory of his wife. About 20,000 workers built the tomb between about 1630 and 1650. The bodies of Shah Jahan and his wife is buried under the building. Shah Jahan was ordering another taj mahal to be built but before he could start his son put him in prison.

The Structure of the Taj Mahal
Shah Jahan spent $20,000 US on the materials just to build the garden in the front and he spent $40,000 on the building. The materials he used were marble, red sandstone, iron, gold, diamonds.

The Building
The square measuring 15186 feet. It stands at one end of the garden adorned. There are many fountains to make it beautiful. Many things have been added to it over the years because of celebration or big events. Famous indian actors are well known for donating money. The actor that have given the most money to the building is Shahrukh Khan.
