Cybersecurity--Two School Districts Fall for Scams

Within the last month, two school districts in Texas have fallen victim to fake emails asking district employees to supply all W-2s for the district. In each case the information was sent and now hundreds of school employees personal data is at risk. I have linked both news stories. Hundreds of Argyle ISD Employees at Risk for Identity Theft after Data Breach. Investigation Ongoing into Employee Information Breach at Mercedes ISD. Never release any personal information through email. These emails are made to look like they are from people you know and trust. Do not trust them. Talk to your contacts and verify any such requests. This could save you from lots of stress in the future.

Just a reminder that if you have technology needs for your classroom, please put in a ticket and we will be happy to help. If you need quotes or event setups, these requests can go in the ticket system as well.

If there is some type of technology that you feel you need more training, let us know. We will be happy to set something up or come by on your conference period to help.

Have a great February!
