By applying this mindset, you will learn to constantly explore synergies with others, embrace diversity, and relish competition that will help you maximize your potential with and through others.

Character Traits: Acceptance, Respect, Cooperation, Kindness

I will recognize the value of community.

I will embrace diversity and the differences of my community.

I will learn from people not like myself.

We will take the Unit 2 Test this week! We will review in class Monday and Tuesday, and take the test on Wednesday. Students can prepare for this test by reviewing their notes and the study guides provided on Monday and Tuesday.

The test will cover the following:

  • Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple
  • Simplifying Fractions
  • Converting Between Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers
  • Multiplying Fractions
  • Dividing Fractions
  • Ratios and Ratio Tables

We will continue Chapter 5 this week over Ratios and Proportions. Hopefully we will finish up the chapter this week, and take the Chapter 5 test on Friday, November 22nd.

All Pre-Algebra students should be working on aleks.com at home!

Each student has their username and password, and should work at home at least 30 minutes a week.

Social Studies - Mrs. Taylor

This week we will learn about United States History and take our first map quiz over the western states and capitals. We made a study guide in class on Nov. 18 & 19 and I have a link on the website to seterra.com which has great interactive study games.

There will be 3 map quizzes in all this week and next week and a final test over all 50 states before winter break. Bonus points will be given for correctly matching the state and capital on each quiz and the test.

Please check the website for homework and absent work, grading policy, and classroom needs/wants.

Science - Mrs. Clanahan

We will continue with body systems. System interaction labs are due this week. A point breakdown for this assignment will be added to powerschool.

Please make sure all missing work is completed. Worksheet copies and the study guide answer key can be found here if needed.
