Cullman City Schools
The Week in Review - October 4, 2019
National Custodial Worker's Day
October 2nd was National Custodial Worker’s Recognition Day. This day is designated to show appreciation to the men and women who keep our schools running smoothly. While thanking them on a single day is a nice way to show our appreciation, we want them to know that we appreciate them every day!
Our custodial workers often operate behind the scenes. We want to make sure that they feel appreciated for the hard work they do day after day. They are a very important part of keeping our buildings clean and well maintained and ensuring our campuses provide an environment in which our students can learn.
Thank you CCS custodial staff!
Congratulations to Our CHS Homecoming Queen
Congratulations to Lauren Skinner for being crowned the 2019 Homecoming Queen last Friday night. The entire court was beautiful and represented their classes well.
Libby Liberty Comes to Town
Libby Liberty™ came to town recently to help more than 250 students throughout Cullman City kick off the Super Citizen Program.
Above and Beyond! (And many more prepositions)
These EES students spent some time working through a "Patterns of Power" lesson as as the prepped to identify prepositional phrases in sentences!
CMS Group Presentations Spark Conversations
These CMS students presented their group project on the Indian caste system. The student presentations sparked conversations about pros and cons of a caste system and connections to other events in history.
Apples to Apples
One of the favorite times for CCPS students in the fall is when Johnny Appleseed activities are on the calendar. They learn so much and have such a good time!
Don't Miss This!
The CHS Sport Shooting Team is serving up some brats at Oktoberfest that you don't want to miss! Check them out near Festhalle! All money goes to support the sport shooting team.
CMS Band Gets Special Support
Thanks to the support of local couple Ray and Benton Buchmann, CMS middle school band students who may not be able to afford a musical instrument will now get that chance. The most recent donation was made this week. Since 2014, The Buchmann's have been supporters of the Cullman Middle School band and donated a number of new instruments.

Always Safety First
These EES students know exactly what to do in an emergency. This assurance comes because of the monthly safety drills that are conducted. Fifth graders are shown here in their designated area for the evacuation drill.
What's the Matter?
These WES students were "locked" in a digital room and had to use knowledge that they had, or information they could discover, about matter to be able to unlock the locks and "escape".
WSCC Lady Lion Basketball Team at CCPS
The WSCC Lady Lion Basketball Team joined us for a time of reading and lunch with our Head Start and Pre-K students. We appreciate the team's partnership with us and our students. These ladies are great educational role models for our students.
Oktoberfest: Fun and Learning Combined
Many CCS students had the opportunity to visit Cullman's Oktoberfest this week and enjoy some of the activities provided.
