A Note From Mrs. Rudder

It was so good to get back to school on Monday! I know that the Kincade Fire affected so many Penngrove families as well as so many Penngrove Staff members. I hope that things are settling down in everyone's lives now.

Conference weeks start next Tuesday and we will have shortened days for the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Break. Please be sure to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher. At Penngrove we plan for 100% participation. Conferences are a time for teachers to share your child's academic progress as well as information about how your child is doing when working with and relating to peers. Likewise, it is also a time for parents to share any concerns with their child's teacher or to relate how excited their child is to learn. Teachers have limited time for each meeting, so plan to be prompt at arrival!

It is so important that your child is only dropped off for school in the designated areas. The Penngrove parent parking lot is so busy each morning before the start of school and at dismissal, making it dangerous for children to be walking through without an adult. Parents are welcome to park in a designated parking spot and walk their child into school OR drive to the drop off area where we have supervision. Children should NEVER be dropped off to walk independently from any other area of the parking lot.

Please also remember that parking for families is in the lower parking lot. The upper lot is for staff use only! We often have extra teachers on site for music, OT, and PT. The very few extra spaces that we have need to be reserved for those teachers. Thank you for your cooperation!

#PennPTA Association Meeting Schedule

Due to the impact of the Kincade Fire, our 10/28/19 Association Meeting was cancelled. Please mark your calendar to be at our next meeting on Dec. 9 at 8:45 am.

#PennPTA Board Nominating Committee

The nominating committee is to be elected during our 12/9 Association Meeting. If you are interested in being on the FOPPTA nominating committee, please email by Nov. 25. Members of the committee will be voted on at the December 9, 2019 FOPPTA Association meeting. You do not need to be present at the meeting to be considered. The committee works collaboratively with the Principal to review board nominations and reports their recommendations to the association at the February 24, 2019 meeting. It is anticipated that this volunteer opportunity will take 1 -2 hours of time with the main meeting at a mutually agreed upon date/time in January 2020.
