The Eagle Beak-on
February 2, 2024
Mrs. Campbell's Notes
The second semester is an excellent opportunity for students to build on the knowledge gained in the first half of the year. Teachers are introducing new concepts, expanding on previous lessons, and guiding students through engaging learning experiences. Please encourage your child to stay organized, manage their time effectively, and reach out for support if they encounter any challenges.
Conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to connect with your child's teachers, discuss their progress, and address any concerns you may have. We believe that open communication between parents and educators is crucial for a student's success. Please scroll further through the newsletter for more details on how to sign up for spring conferences next week.
Throughout the month of February, students will wrap up their Aims Web testing, practice for state assessments through the interim tests, and continue to monitor progress through our IXL program. Students trying their best and taking these assessments seriously will help us determine correct placement in classes for the upcoming school year. A more detailed calendar of dates for state assessments will be provided in the March newsletter.
Remember, stay involved. Ask students questions about their day. Some good education conversation starters could be... "Show me your RTI scheduler and what WIN sessions you have been signing up for", "Let's look at Skyward and see how you've been doing on daily assignments", "What's IXL and how do you use it in class?"
Thank you for your continued support. As always, if you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Attention Juniors!!
KHS will be giving a free ACT test on February 28th during school. The ACT test is a curriculum-based education and career planning tool for high school students that assesses the mastery of college readiness standards. The ACT is not required for students but gives students the opportunity to see what the ACT is like free of charge.
PASS Survey time is coming. The PASS Survey is a way for the staff to assess how students feel about school and themselves as a learner, including connectedness, self-efficiency, and motivation. In order for us to be able to administer this survey we must have parental permission. We will have forms for you to fill out at parent/teacher conferences.
If there are any questions regarding the ACT or the PASS survey please contact Mrs. Munz.
