FAC Weekly Update
May 28, 2021
Good Afternoon, Fine Arts Center Family
I hope that you had a wonderful week!
As we close out the school year at the FAC, I would like to wish all of our FAC Families a safe, happy, and healthy summer. May we all use this time to recharge our batteries and make memories with our loved ones. For artists, the summer break is the time for us to delve deeply into independent artmaking, taking advantage of the extra time to "level up" on our skills. As a saxophonist, I enjoy this opportunity to address weaknesses and build strengths so that I am ready for the next school year. Our School Team will be hard at work in addressing any areas where we found ourselves lacking, and setting our students up for their best school year yet.
Keep an eye on your email for Summer Updates, which should come in early July and again in early August. Our Summer Office Hours begin the week of June 7, and are Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...
Thank you, Parents!
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
"Pressure gives us the opportunity for growth and extraordinary experiences, which is the core of a courageous life. In our affluenza culture of instant gratification, we tend to lose perspective on what gives meaning to life. When we seek mastery, however, we are preparing ourselves for a life of growth and learning that sets that stage for resonance - adversity and all. We can then transcend our day-to-day circumstances and the need to beat our opponents and instead focus on being our best selves. We thereby forge a connection with the performance, which provides incredible experiences. We win more often and are prepared for the unexpected. In a crisis, danger becomes opportunity."
― Jim Murphy, "Inner Excellence: Train Your Mind for Extraordinary Performance and the Best Possible Life.".
