Principal's Corner Week of Nov 30
SUPER NEWS by Debbie Garcia
VIRTUAL LEARNING
SUPER School Families,
Under the guidance of the Marion County Public Health Department, SUPER School along with Indianapolis Public Schools will return to 100% remote learning for all grades (Pre-K–12), starting Monday, November 23 through Monday, January 18. As always, the health and safety of the SUPER School family is our top priority.
School will begin at 7:40 each morning. Please make sure your students are logged in for attendance. Students will be following their normal school schedule.
Middle School students will attend virtually every day.
Attendance
As we prepare to transition to full time virtual learning, our attendance team will be working to ensure all students uphold good attendance, as we know that attendance is a leading indicator of academic success. Attendance will be monitored for Middle School closely during Period 1, 2 , and 3. Parents will receive a call or text message if their student is absent, as we have been noticing a trend of increase of virtual learner absences as the school day continues. Phone calls/texts will only occur if the school has not been notified that the student will be absent. Thank you for partnering with us as we aim to provide the best virtual education possible.
IPS Food Distribution
The IPS Food Service Team will provide multiple days’ worth of prepackaged meals (breakfast and lunch) two days a week for students during remote learning days at multiple locations throughout the district.
Meals are available to any child 18 years of age and younger regardless of enrollment in IPS. Meals will be handed out drive-thru style in parking lots. Drive to the door number listed below.
Meal distribution, which begins the week of Nov. 23, will be held from:
• 8–10 a.m. and 12–3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• On Tuesdays, students will receive three (3) days’ worth of meals.
