A message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and Patrons:
As mentioned in several earlier messages, rapid changes and extremes in the weather seem to have interrupted the continuity of our school year; yet we remain focused on the best learning activities for your student(s). Even though Spring Break means a week out of school, your student continues to have academic responsibilities. Perhaps, you can use this weekend and next week prepare for Spring Break activity. Ask your student(s) what long term assignments need to be completed upon returning to school and help them organize thoughts and resources needed at home for the break period; if your questioning yields a response of no work or I am all caught up or the teacher did not tell me, you can check your student(s) progress online then determine an appropriate teacher to contact.
Recreational reading is a great suggestion If your student truly has no school work. Each school has a well-stocked library and the local public library is available. Local and area museums also make good family field trips, most are inexpensive just requiring your time and interest. Other suggestions could be to establish a quiet or no game time to engage in mind-expanding activities or simply plan home projects that fit your family.
Irrespective of your family plan, please engage your student(s) in productive activities. Kids minds are always working. Let's work together to ensure activities lead to academic success!
Finally, please make time to participate in the 1st Community Meeting, March 21, 2019, 6:00 p.m. in the Fulton High School Commons. Hollis+Miller representatives will lead a planning session as a significant initial step toward a Facilities Plan. Your thoughts about your school’s future are important. Please join your Fulton Board of Education in this effort.
Thank you for sending great kids for us to work with!
Sincerely,
Jacque A. Cowherd, Ed.D.
Superintendent
