TEACHER ABSENCES
Sometimes we have to be absent and it's unavoidable. Please follow the steps below to ensure everything will run smoothly in your absence:
- Put your absence into the Aesop system (make sure it's set up now and you can get in with no problems for when the time comes!). Do it as soon as you know you are going to be out! You can enter you absence online or call the phone number given in the email. Your BOY packet has more specific directions.
- Personal or discretionary day: please fill out the form for this and turn into Lisa's box at least 2 weeks before you will be out. She has to approve all personal days. These forms are located in the workroom. Marie will put in the absence for you when it is approved by Lisa.
- Out for school business: please fill out the form in Marie's office, at least two weeks before you will be out. She will help you if you need help with this form. Marie will put in all school business absences.
- Make sure to leave detailed sub plans with all activities, books, or papers ready on your table. Make sure to leave an attendance count, a class roster, a dismissal list, and anything else you think a sub would need to know to cover your class.
- Alert your supervisor and your team leader of your absence.
- Review expectations with your students.
EMERGENCY SUB PLANS...
Sometimes we have an emergency and HAVE to be out. Emergency sub plans are required by all teachers to reduce the burden on grade level teams.
- Please have your emergency sub plans in a tub that is accessible to your team leader and a substitute.
- You are required to have 3 days of emergency plans with ALL materials needed in the tub.
- Please have this completed by the end of the week (Friday, 9/2).
- Team leaders will assist you if you are not sure what should be included.

Our Comet of the Week is....Jennifer Wong!!!
Jennifer will nominate our next Comet of the Week! This will be a new tradition, in which our previous Comet will nominate the next, in order to recognize the accomplishments of all of our staff members!
The Comet of the Week will get a front row parking spot for the week (labeled Comet of the Week)!
