Attendance Matters
The state of Ohio passed House Bill 410, regarding absenteeism in schools. This has caused West Carrollton to change/update our attendance policies. Information on this can be found in the district website, and in the handbook. However, we understand that the change can cause confusion. In the weeks to come, please read our three-part attendance fact "cheat sheet"!
Fact #1
Excessive Absenteeism
If your student has failed to attend school for 38 hours or more in a month, or 65 hours or more in a year they will be considered “excessively absent”.
Regardless of whether these absences are excused or unexcused, if a student misses 38 or more hours in one month or 65 or more hours in a school year the parent/guardian shall be notified.
If the excessive absences are due to a medical reason please make sure all documentation is on file at C.F. Holliday.
Wild about Attendance
School attendance is important at C. F. Holliday. This week we celebrated coming to school every day; on-time and all day, with our "Wild about Attendance" spirit week. Check out our dedication!
