Monday Memo #23

What's Your Main Event This Week?

Dear T.E.A.M. :

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

If you're anything like me (or likely anyone else on the planet), at least part of your Sunday involved the Super Bowl. Maybe you were tearing up listening to Lady Gaga's rendition of our National Anthem, marveling at the combination of Beyonce, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars together on one stage, anticipating which would be the best commercial, , celebrating with family and friends...and, oh yeah, watching a football game. Or maybe that was me.

I've always been fascinated by the magnitude of EVENT that the Super Bowl becomes.

This week, we've got lots more events where the previous have come from. In fact, we tend to have one or more "big ticket" events each week. And while the reality is, we all can't be at or involved in EVERY event, it's important that we do our best. Because as we all know, especially when it comes to events that are with or about our middle school students, there are so many hidden rewards, for them and for us. Like the Super Bowl, it's often the unexpected events that are the most memorable. So this week, take a look at our Weekly Calendar, and treat yourself to one of our events happening.

And...make a point this week to treat yourself and your students to a classroom event. While some are counting the days until a February Recess, this is a great time to remember that we have students who are anxiously awaiting the unexpected event that you have in store for them. And it won't take a "Puppy Baby Monkey" to make a student's day (although that'd be interesting.)

Looking forward to seeing you this week, sharing middle school events, and learning with and from you all.

Thanks for you dedication to our students and our middle school program. Let's work together to make this week great for our students!
