Health and Safety Information
PA State: Universal Masking Order
Revisions to the masking order were effective at 12 a.m. on November 18. The secretary of health has directed that everyone should wear an appropriate face covering, both indoors and outdoors. The face covering procedures outlined within the Central Bucks' Health and Safety Plan are already in compliance with the revised order. The order continues to allow for appropriate “mask breaks,” and for students to remove their mask during breakfast and lunch.
The order reinforces the necessity to mask, even when outdoors. During outdoor activities, students will be required to maintain sustained physical distance whenever they are unmasked. When participating in an outdoor activity that precludes physical distancing, students will be required to wear a mask.
Find more information on the questions and answers page here. More information about when student athletes must wear face coverings on our website here. At this time, face shields of any kind (without a mask) are not in compliance with the updated order.
PA Requirements for Those Who Travel
Our CB Family Travel form has been updated, Family Travel Approval Request.
Effective at 12 a.m. on November 20, the secretary of health tightened requirements related to anyone who travels outside of the commonwealth. The order has been expanded to include travel to any location outside of Pennsylvania. In line with the procedures already contained within our approved health and safety plan, employees and students who travel will not be able to return to school or work in-person for a period of 14 days.
As we approach the holidays, please be mindful of this if you are planning to travel, and when visiting with friends and family, especially those who may have traveled, please consider social distancing measures and other precautions. The district will not be modifying the approved health and safety plan to allow individuals to return without restriction by presenting a negative test result.
DISTRICT HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the Central Bucks School District Health & Safety Plan. You can find it on the district website by following this link, Health and Safety Plan. You can also find the CB Return to School Guide here. Both include a great deal of information on district procedures and protocols. They will answer many of your questions.

Grand Friends from New Seasons
The Butler community, in conjunction with our 40 Assets initiatives, is continuing the tradition of creating cards for our Grand Friends from the New Seasons personal care facility in New Britain. We are asking students to create a holiday card or two with artwork and a generic message (Dear Grand Friend and a wish for a happy holiday). Please sign the cards with only first name and perhaps last initial (no full names). Cards can be placed in the Grand Friend box in front of the Butler main office by December 18th. The students have really enjoyed making these cards in the past and our Grand Friends are so thankful to receive them.
Reminders from the Nurse's Office:
- Please return your Health Forms: Kindergarten or Entry physicals and dentals, 3rd grade dentals, and 6th grade physicals to the health room, ASAP. Also, please remember to keep a copy for your records.
- A “pesky” situation, head lice, is not uncommon. Please check your child’s head weekly and call the health room is you find or suspect your child has head lice and further guidance will be given.
- If your child has an injury and requires a boot, ace wrap, sling, cast, crutches etc, please notify the health room. We will need written restrictions by an MD for gym class as well as recess. We do encourage our students to go outside for fresh air even when they are unable to have an active recess, unless otherwise written by the MD.
- Please remember to dress your child for the weather and outdoor recess. Labeling your items is necessary as we are not to be collecting for lost and found due to COVID-19.
- It’s the time of year when children have chapped lips and dry hands. Please send lip balm with your child, labeled, and a small bottle of hand lotion, if needed, as we are trying to keep healthy children from coming into the health room.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Holiday Season. -Nurse Karen & the Health Room Staff
