The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. Superintendent Update | watch

Dr. Kaczkowski reported on attendance of students and staff as we returned to school after winter break today. 639 students were absent and over 60 staff members were out. These are higher than usual rates. We are monitoring and continuing to staff the schools through the higher than usual absences.


Student Enrollment, Facilities and Next Steps

  • Kasarda Enrollment Study | watch
    Dr. Kaczkowski shared enrollment projections provided by Kasarda. Kasarda provided three different scenarios with the second scenario (scenario b) deemed most likely. Two of the three scenarios predict growth in enrollment.

  • Facilities Scenarios Community Feedback | watch
    A summary of each of the facility solution scenarios as well as their pros and cons were presented by the superintendent. Click Here to view the document. Feedback provided directly from the community at the November 1 Committee of the Whole meeting was also shared related to each of the scenarios. Board members and community members asked questions and engaged in conversation about the pros and cons of the scenarios.


Community Engagement Presentation | watch

Collin Corbett of Cor Strategies/EO Sullivan presented “Why engaging the community is vital to a successful project.” He explained that the work they do is creating a community and data driven plan to solve challenges. They work through a phased approach to collaborate with the community through planning, community engagement and community education. Board members asked questions and engaged in conversation about their work engaging the community on behalf of school districts.
