PRAYER

Opening Prayer

Oh Lord, as each day starts anew, I know all things are made by You

You make the clouds and gentle rain. You make the sun come out again.

You make the rainbow in the sky, and the birds that fly up high.

You make the flowers and every tree. Thank You, God, for blessing me.

Amen

MEMORY VERSE

This Week's Memory Verse - Hebrews 4:12

"The Word of God is living and active sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

I always learn scripture better when I can put music to it. If that sounds like you, too, you can use this music video to help you remember this verse about God's word, the Bible and its use for us today!

The Word of God (Hebrews 4:12)

SUPPORTING VERSES FOR A FAITH-FILLED LIFE

  • Micah 6:8 - "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
  • Proverbs 27:1-2 - "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips."
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

AFFIRMATIONS

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and because He is steadfast, who we are in Him remains the same regardless of circumstances. These statements remind us whose we are and who we are Because of who Jesus is.

Speak these statements together as a family.

Big picture

CLOSING PRAYER

Now, before I run to play, let me not forget to pray

To God who kept me through the night and woke me with the morning light

Help me, Lord, to love Thee more than I have ever loved before

In my work and in my play, be Thou with me through the day

Amen
