My Coaching Vision

As a literacy coach, it is my job to act as a thinking partner for teachers and to keep student progress as our primary focus.

My Guiding Principles

1. Put kids first.

2. Listen actively.

3. Ask questions.

4. Respect other views.

5. Collaborate-we are in this together!

6. Be positive.

7. It's okay to say, "I don't know."

8. Change your words, change your mindset.

Student-Centered Coaching

My most recent literacy coach training has been around the concept of student-centered coaching, based on the book by Diane Sweeney.
