Halloween at GMS
Do you have too much Halloween candy? Why not donate it to kids that were not able to trick-or-treat this Halloween?. Student Leadership will be collecting candy for the patients of Dana Farber starting tomorrow, November 1st. There will be a collection bin in the main lobby through next week and all collected candy will be donated to The Dana Farber Institute in Boston on Friday, November 18th.
Thank you to everyone that bought pink ribbons yesterday, donated to the “teacher treat” competition, or purchased a pink t-shirt through student leadership. Between the three events, we raised just under $1000 to be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for breast cancer awareness and research. Congrats to the winning teachers for “teacher treat:" Dr. Nervi, Mr. Mush, Mrs. Stockwell-Alpert, Mrs. Biedermann, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Hickox, and Ms. Dineen

Parent/Teacher Conferences
The GMS Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, November 20th from 11:45-2:15, 2:45-4:45, and 5:45-7:45. Appointments can be made electronically beginning on Wednesday, November 6th at 4:00 PM. An email containing information about how to sign up and access School Appointments will be sent on Monday, November 4th.
Early Dismissal
We realize that it may be necessary at times to dismiss your child from school. If this need occurs, please write a note in the morning stating the name of your child, grade, and time of dismissal. Your child should bring this note to the Guidance secretary, Lynn Piana, before school. This notice is posted in our daily attendance for the teachers. Children may then leave their class at the appropriate time and check out through the main office. All parents and guardians must come to the main office to pick up their children. This note in the morning also alleviates interrupting classes to page the student. Thank you.
