Volunteer with your Family
Volunteering teaches your child:
- A sense of responsibility: By volunteering kids and teens learn what it means to make and keep a commitment. They learn how to be on time, do their best, and be proud of the results.
- That one person can make a difference: An important message for kids that they are important enough to have an impact on someone else.
- Tolerance: Working in community service can bring kids and teens in touch with people of different backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, ages and income levels. They'll learn that even the move diverse individuals can be unified with common values.
- Job skills: Learn to work as a team member, take on leadership roles, goal setting and more.
Looking for places to volunteer? Consider reaching out to your local PTA, Campus Parent Liaison, faith organization, or community outreach center.
