Our Beloved, Mrs. Jessica Weaver is getting a promotion!
For a few years now, Mrs. Weaver has desired to work in her husband's law practice. Stepping back from her role as Executive Assistant will afford her this opportunity. Jessica will continue to volunteer at the school from time to time and currently serves as a class sponsor on Friday mornings.
As you have opportunity, please express your appreciation directly to Mrs. Weaver for her years of service.
Kind Regards, Mr. Ragsdell
Character WOW: Sensitivity vs. Callousness
Sensitivity vs. Callousness
Character WOW!
“Developing my emotional intelligence so that I can perceive the true spirit and emotions of those around me.”
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” ~ Romans 12:15-16
Ezekiel 36:26 records God’s promise to his people with these words, “ I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
Sometimes life has a way of “hardening our hearts.” Remember the parable of the sower (Matthew 13)? Jesus taught us that the soil of our hearts can sensitive, distracted or callous. “Callousness” can be defined as “insensitive, indifferent, or unsympathetic.” Hearts that are callous struggle to be sensitive to God and others.
Jesus showed us the way by offering sensitivity to the multitudes when he fed the 5,000 (John 6). The Good Samaritan who was sensitive to the needs of a wounded stranger on the side of the road. (Luke 10:30-37). In the Old Testament, Joseph’s sensitive to the condition of the butler and the baker (Genesis 40) eventually led to his release from prison.
God wants us to become sensitive to others by developing a soft heart towards His word and His Spirit.
My Declaration: “I will live with a soft heart towards God and others by allowing God’s word and Spirit to transform my heart..”
Bible story: The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37)
Quote: “I think there is only one quality worse than hardness of heart and that is softness of head. ” ~ Theodore Roosevelt
