September Coffee Cart

Students from Mrs. Sheets's and Mrs. Hemanson's class offer a Coffee Cart service to staff on Wednesday mornings. All proceeds from September's Coffee Cart were used to purchase items for the Pella Food Shelf. Students raised money for 14 jars of peanut butter and 34 cans of soup!

MS State Cross Country

Congratulations to the Middle School Cross Country team on a fabulous performance at state!

7th grade girls won the state meet with a perfect score. Finishing the race in the top ten were: Abby Teagarden (4th), Autumn Blink (5th), Maya Poulter (8th), Macy Schroeder (9th). Also, running were Jacie Trine, Tess Paulsen, Penelope Shriver, and Laura Gaschler.

7th grade boys earned a 10th place finish in the state, with two runners finishing in the top 40: Stephen Gaul (31st) and Jake Huston (34th). Also running for the Dutch were:. Atticus Vos, Andrew Vanderhoff, Kolton Messer, and Thom Tangen.

8th grade girls finished 11th as a team with runners Haley VanHoweling, Norma Spiker, Tricia Lundy, Tatum Tierney, and Nora Rasmussen.

8th grade Boys finished 8th, with Chase Lauman winning the race as State Champion. Also running were Logan Solomon, Reid Hermanson, Cooper Vandevoort, Christian Muthomi, Morgen Clark, Aidan VanDonselaar, Harsh Patel, and Caleb Stewart.

The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary.

Nine Selected to State Honor Choir

Congratulations to those students who were selected to participate in the Iowa Opus State Honor Choir! Close to 3,000 students auditioned across the state for this prestigious honor. This year we had nine students selected to represent Pella Middle School. These students will perform on Iowa State's campus in CY Stephens Auditorium on November 15th. They are: Jake Brenizer, Elijah Burrows, AJ Caldwell, Eli Ebeling, Camden Holland, Olivia Hood, Derrick Huckstep, Christian Sanders and Jacob Rietveld (earned solo finalist status).
