Maybe it's NOT just Allergies...

It's turning to fall in Michigan, and with that comes seasonal allergies, colds, and other viruses. Even before Covid, we asked parents to keep sick children at home to minimize the spread of illness and to make sure that kids who are too sick to learn aren't suffering through the school day. And these days, while we understand that this is cold and allergy season, there is a great deal of overlap between common cold and allergy symptoms and potential Covid symptoms, particularly in young children.


If your student is coughing, sneezing, has a stuffy/ drippy nose, has a sore throat, ongoing headache, shortness of breath, stomachache, or ANY other potential sign of illness, PLEASE keep them home until they are 24 hours SYMPTOM FREE (without the use of medication) OR until you have a negative test to confirm they do not have Covid AND until your child is feeling up to returning to school.


We understand that this can be a major inconvenience for our families, and we are sympathetic, but we are working really hard to keep our community healthy. Please help us to keep sick people out of the building so we can keep healthy ones in the building teaching and learning.

Kindergarten Learning This Week

Mrs. Delicato's Kindergarteners have been practicing fine motor skills in many fun ways: rolling tiny apples from play-doh, drawing shapes to create pictures and manipulating bingo chips. They are also working on the letters in their names and counting objects. They are learning a lot and having fun doing it!

Mrs. Barker's 2nd Graders are Getting to Know Each Other

Our 2nd-grade Comets have gotten right into the swing of things and are doing a great job this year! Here we have a group of students who has already earned a reward for good choices, so they chose to have lunch with Mrs. Barker.

Covid-19 Updates

Fraser Public Schools' intention is to return to a normal school environment and routine for the 2021-2022 school year.



Procedure when a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19
When a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, he/she should notify the Macomb County Health Department at (586) 463-3750 during normal business hours. Additionally, families and staff members should contact the school administrator. The individual should stay home and isolate for at least 10 days from the first date of symptoms or 10 days from the test date if asymptomatic AND fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications and improved symptoms.


Fraser Public Schools will be reporting all COVID-19 positive cases to the Macomb County Health Department (MCHD). The MCHD will investigate to determine if any additional students or staff should be quarantined. We will continue to work with our Health Department to support these efforts. Please refer to the Macomb County Health Department's Parent Toolkit for more information about our Covid protocols.


Please continue to reach out to keep us updated about your family's health and notify the office if someone in your household tests positive for Covid-19 or if you find out that your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive. This information will help mitigate the spread and keep our Twain community healthy.

FPS Mask Policy

Masks are optional for all staff, students, and visitors on campus. We will have masks available in all of our buildings for anyone who needs one. Fraser Public Schools encourages everyone who is not fully vaccinated to wear a face covering. Facial coverings are a safe and proven strategy to prevent secondary transmission of this aggressive Delta variant in schools. Masks are primarily intended to reduce the emission of virus-laden droplets. They also help reduce inhalation of these droplets by the wearer.


Masks must be worn on Fraser Public School buses. The CDC requires masks to be worn on school buses.

A Great Resource in Our Own Backyard

CARE is a resource in our community that helps families and individuals who are experiencing difficulties with mental health or substance abuse. CARE's Student Assistance program offers families the opportunity to receive a thorough assessment for children who are experiencing mental health issues. CARE will then provide resources to assist with concerns. CARE also is a great place to attend parenting classes for Early Childhood through Teen. Speciality classes related to anger management and play and learn groups for younger children are also programs provided through CARE. Free Breakfasts & Lunches Continue This Year

The State of Michigan will continue to provide a free breakfast and lunch for all student who wants them throughout the 2021-2022 school year. We will provide monthly calendars with scheduled meals as we have in the past, but families do not need to pre-order. Click on the calendar images below to expand them.


Although not required, we do ask that all families complete the Lunch Application at www.LunchApp.com. Doing so ensures the school receives additional funding and helps identify families who qualify for additional support.

GLEANERS FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO CONTINUE

We are excited to announce that we have extended our partnership with Gleaners through September. They will continue to be set up in the FHS parking lot on the following dates:

ACCESS FOOD PANTRY - OPEN TO ALL

During these times, ACCESS of SterLing Heights has opened their food pantry to all Fraser Public School families. Each week, ACCESS offers foods like frozen meat, rice, pasta, oil, nuts, cereal, dried milk, juice and more.


Access offers food pickup on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. until supplies run out. Families are also welcome to call (586) 722-6036 to schedule a pickup anytime during our regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please note, all are welcome to visit our free food pantry.
