RPE Strong --January 7, 2022

It has been a great week back with both our in person and virtual students returning. Our students and our staff have been excited to be together!

Along with the excitement of returning to school, there may be concern about the rise in COVID cases. On Wednesday, January 5th our district sent out communication about the rise and some changes in the Close Contact/Quarantine protocols. COVID-19 LISD (Review Close Contact/Quarantine) At campus, we will continue the safety protocols for stage yellow that we have followed this year.

However with the change in the district protocols, there will be one external change for our families. Until now, the district and our campus were responsible for contact tracing students Pre-K-6th; due to those students not having the opportunity to be vaccinated. Beginning 1/5/22, the contact tracing efforts were moved to concentrate on our youngest students who do not have the opportunity to be vaccinated.

How might that impact our K-5 families? If your child is in a class with a student or staff member who tests positive, individual notifications will not come to families making them aware of the close contact. At this time, the school notification of the positive case for our campus will go out through Remind. This particular protocol has been in effect in grades 7th-12th all school year as those students have had the opportunity for vaccination beginning last spring.

COVID Reporting Reminder

As we return to campus after a long winter break, we are requesting that you notify the RPE nurse as soon as possible of any positive COVID test results and/or symptoms you are monitoring at home regarding your student. This information is helpful in monitoring our district COVID numbers, alerting others to watch for symptoms, and providing you with COVID Isolation information if your student tests positive. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our RPE doors open and our students and staff healthy!

Lost & Found

The week before winter break we lined our halls with the numerous jackets, water bottles, and lunch boxes that have piled up in our lost & found. While we continue to encourage students to claim their items, our halls are still full of unclaimed items.

On WEDNESDAY afternoon, any items that are still in the hallway unclaimed will be donated.

Parents may check in at the receptionist desk in order to walk the halls to look for missing items.

Early Release Wednesday

Wednesday, January 12 is an early release day. Students will be released at 1:25.

No School on Monday, January 17

Early Pick Up Reminders

Just a reminder that when picking up your child early, you should arrive by 2:00 PM on regular dismissal days and 12:15 on early dismissal Wednesdays. This helps us ensure that our end of day dismissal occurs in a timely and safe manner.

Drop off reminders:

Help us keep everyone safe:

The road in front of our campus is ONE WAY in the mornings (and afternoons).

Traffic flow is from our entrance on River Place Blvd. towards Sitio Del Rio Blvd.

The car rider drop off line follows the traffic loop by the portables. Students may only be dropped off in the car rider drop off line on the SIDE of the building (students exit vehicle at sidewalk near MPR & K/1 hallway).

If you wish to PARK and WALK YOUR CHILD TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE, you may do so. However, please respect the ONE WAY traffic flow when leaving.
