NEW CLASS ALERT: ETHNIC STUDIES 1-2
Westview will be offering Ethnic Studies 1-2 class for the 2022-23 school year for all 9-12th graders. This course is a “G” elective and is 1 term. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge to achieve an understanding of and an appreciation for the various cultures in their community. The focus is around the experiences of African Americans, Asian Americans, Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x, Native Americans, and other racialized peoples in the United States.

PUSD secondary schools are currently going through a pilot process for adopting a new History Social Studies (HSS) curriculum for our middle schools and high school United States History Course.. HIGH SCHOOL LITERATURE ADOPTION COMMITTEE
High School Literature Adoption Committee
In an effort to continue to provide a rigorous and culturally responsive approach to literature, PUSD is creating a committee to review and approve supplemental literature titles for use in secondary English classes. The committee will include representative parents, students and staff. Working as a collaborative body, the group will be tasked with reading and reviewing books and proposals for adoption. COLLEGE VISITS
Representatives from the Coast Guard will be in the Plaza at lunch on Tuesday, March 22nd.
Tuesday, March 29th stop by the Wolverine Center at 9:20am to meet with University of Arizona Reps and at 11:30 for Southern Oregon Reps.
Check SCOIR for more information. Please remember to sign up on SCOIR and if during a class period print out the permission slip and return it to Mrs. Beccarelli in the Wolverine Center.
PROM EXPO
We will announce our Prom location and Prom theme on Thursday, April 7. Juniors and Seniors are invited to come to the gym at lunch in order to see the prom reveal and also be eligible for prizes.

We will allow guests to Prom. Guest passes will be available after the Prom reveal on April 7. Guests may not be older than 20. Guest passes must be turned in before May 18. Forms will be available in Finance and in the ASB room.
WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
You are invited to attend our Women’s History Month Discussion Panel on Wednesday, March 23 during lunch in the theater. We will have students and prominent women in our community available to discuss the importance of recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of women.

ASB is hosting a 3 v 3 basketball tournament the week after spring break. Applications are available in the ASB room. Teams are coed with 4 players. There can only be a maximum of 2 varsity basketball players (boys or girls) on each team. Stop by ASB for any questions.

Westview Athletics is excited to announce that our Westview Varsity Baseball team will be playing at Petco Park on April 5th at 7pm vs. Mission Hills High School.
Tickets are $20 for the event and a ticket to the April 14th
Padres vs. Reds game is included!
Tickets will go on sale March 21st and can be purchased one of three ways .

The Westview Reflection winners whose art will advance to the fifth and final level of competition at the National Level are Archimedes Li (Music) and Zoey Lestyk (Visual Arts). Archimedes won Outstanding Interpretation Award and Zoey won the Award of Excellence. Please congratulate our advancing students.
