News from the Nurse

As we approach the beginning of fall, remember it is also the season for colds!

Please remind your children to:

SNEEZE into their ELBOW

And NOT to share drinks or food with friends!

Flu Shot Reminder

Now is the time to think about "Flu Season". Flu vaccinations should be given beginning late September to early October to give your body's immune system time to respond and build antibodies against the flu.

Contact your child's health care provider and set up an appointment to get your FLU shot!

One District - One Book

Dear Families, at this time we are postponing the One District, One Book plans as previously communicated. Please stay tuned for additional communications regarding the shared family reading of Cynthia Lord's, Rules.

Car Line Update

Thank you to all our parents and students who have done a fantastic job with our new car line at Titus. This is just a friendly reminder that the gates for afternoon pick up will not open until 3pm. We would appreciate your support in not lining up in the parking lot for afternoon pick up prior to 3pm as we do not want to cause any traffic issues for Lower Barness Road and 611.

Thank you for all your support this school year in helping our car line run as smoothly as possible. We are loving our new car line loop!

Fall Fest at CB South

Check out CB South's Fall Fest which is open to the community. Those in attendance have the opportunity to explore the many clubs and activities that define South's culture. All ages should expect a fun fall-themed afternoon filled with games, food and music! Festivities kick off at 4pm and end at 6:30pm.

Kindergarten has had an apple-icious week! They have been counting, sorting, graphing, tasting and weighing apples. Granny Smith has come in a close second to the yummy variety of red apples. One student commented that Johnny Appleseed Day was his favorite holiday! We love our Kinders - they are the "apple of our eye."

6th Grade

It's important to read to understand the text, but it's also important to read for enjoyment. Room 202 had their first "Flashlight Friday" and had independent DEAR time by flashlight! The students were so excited all week for Friday!

Box Tops for Education

Have you downloaded the new Box Tops for Education app yet? Scan your store receipts for instant credit! Box Tops has recently added the ability to assign your scanned receipts to your child’s classroom count! Make sure you have the most recent version of the app; scan your receipt; look for the star at the bottom that says CREDIT; type in your child’s teacher’s last name (e.g. HENRY). Going forward, the app will autofill your teacher entry. If you have multiple children, you can edit the CREDIT field before saving your entry. To update previous scans, go to My Earnings; click on an entry; give credit; type in your child’s teacher’s last name. Note, you must do this for each previous entry. Please only type in one teacher’s last name per scan. Questions? Check here for more details. Thank you for your patience and support as Box Tops for Education moves to a digital format, and don’t forget that traditional “clip” Box Tops can still be sent in to your child’s classroom.
