Parent Teacher Conference General Information
Each semester Granville Academy teachers will reach out to families to set up times to discuss your child's progress. The conferences are designed to give you more information about the growth and challenges that students face and our approach to meeting our students’ needs. We talk about how we — our parents and the school — work together to help our students grow.
If you have not signed up for a conference time yet, please reach out to your student's teacher and view the grade span information below. All K-8 conference will take place onsite and all 9-12 conferences will be set up with individual teachers.

PTA: Feed the Piggies
Granville Academy had our first PTA meeting on October 25! The PTA is planning a fundraiser that will begin on November 5th and end on November 20 with the culminating activity of Dr. Wrenn kissing a pig or actually pigs! Students will bring in spare change to be collected in each classroom to raise the registration fees for K-12 Science Olympiad teams. Please be on the lookout for the cutest piggy banks in the classrooms to collect change and help us "feed the piggies".
Granville Academy would also like to thank each and every supporter of our Pirates. We are so lucky to have the family involvement and great school culture!
Groups and Discussion Boards
Granville Academy has set up a virtual collaborative space for GA families in grade spans K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Invitations were sent to participate in the web forums. This space will provide the opportunity for families to collaborate online. Please note that Google email addresses have different capabilities on a Google Group. If you do not have a gmail account, you will still be able to view all communication. Every group member receives emails from the discussion board that they belong in.

6-8 Pirate Information
Message from Mrs. Nelson: Battle of the Books
Research has shown over and over that students who read independently are more successful in school, and we believe that here at Granville Academy. Mrs. Nelson's middle school language arts students are required to get a public library card and check out books for a Battle of the Books project at the end of the nine week period. Learning coaches/parents may choose to access any of the library branches to apply for the card and encourage students to check out books and read independently. The project will be explained in more detail in the weekly checklist, but step one is to have the students get a library card and choose a book.
If you have any questions, please let Mrs. Nelson know. She would be glad to help. The library staff at all our branches LOVE to have new card holders and readers and will be more than accommodating.
