Congratulations....Yukon Huskies!
Congratulations to our Yukon Huskies. We had almost 150 students participate in our PTA's Reflection Program. This program provides opportunites for our students to express themselves through arts. They can submit under the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. This years theme was "Show your Voice."
Special congratualtions to our students who have moved onto our district competition:

Joshua Saavedra, 3rd Grade
This 2022-2023 school year, Ms. Jessie Wi was the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award. She currently teaches 5th grade at Yukon and devotes countless hours and service in providing several programs such as GATE, Accelerated Math, Math Field Day, Pentathlon, just to name a few. Congratulations to her outstanding dedication and service to our school and community.
The Honary Service Award was presented to Shelly Contreras, Yukon's health clerk. She tirelessly serves our school in ensuring student and staff safety and good health. She welcomes and helps everyone who walks into her office with love and care. Her support and service is much appreciated by our Yukon community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate our students and staff. What an amazing night.

Online registration for Yukon Torrance Residents Feb. 13 - 17 and in person registration at the Enrollment Center (2336 Plaza Del Amo, Torrance) is Feb. 14-17. Kindergarten students need to be 5 by Sept. 1, 2023. Transitional Kindergarten students will need to be 5 years old from Sept. 2, 2023 - April 2, 2024. Sign up for ELOP
Yukon hosts ELOP (Extended Learning Opportunity Program) after school everyday. This program provides additional 3 hours of academic support, social-emotional learning and healthy play every school day. The Kindergarten class is full however, we have room for all other grades. (Kinders can sign up and be on the waitlist). If you are interested in ELOP, email Mrs. Han,
han.sorah@tusd.org or let Ms. Becky know that you are interested. The office will send an interest form for you to fill out. There is an eligibility criteria. If you qualify, the ELOP program will contact you.
For the Winter Session, ELOP students will be working with Chem Kidz focusing on science experiments. They will also meet with Funky Divas and Dudes to receive dance and fitness skills. Don't miss out on the fun!

Want to Do a Birthday Shout Out?
You can now have a birthday shout out on our Yukon marquee for $20. The birthday message will stay up for an entire week. You will need to fill out a form in the office and submit a check payable to Yukon Elementary School. The message can be two lines long. Each line has 15 spaces. All messages need to be submitted by Tuesday afternoon and it'll be up starting Wednesday afternoon.
