Tēnā koutou katoa! Greetings everyone!
Tēnā koutou katoa! Greetings everyone!
We have made it! The end of Term 1 has arrived and we can now all take a little time to take a well deserved break. We’ve navigated all sorts of things - it has been challenging at times, and hugely fulfilling at other times. Rest is necessary.
Thinking ahead to Term 2, I am really excited as are many others. We will now be able to resume some form of normality. Gathering together in large numbers, or just gathering together at school is going to be so wonderful.
I would like to take this time to thank our tamariki and whānau for your support and encouragement this term. Thank you for showing the teachers and staff how much you appreciate them. Thank you for your commitment to our kura.
I want to acknowledge our Board of Trustees for the many hours of meeting together and getting work done behind the scenes for our kura. Thank you each for your contribution.
I also would like to thank the teachers and support staff who have worked incredibly hard this term. Thank you for being an amazing group who have served our tamariki and their whānau so well this term. Thank you for supporting me in my new journey of leadership.
And last but certainly not least, I would like to give all thanks, honour and glory to our Heavenly Father who continues to provide for our needs. Thank you Lord your plans for us are to prosper, to give us hope and a future.
Enjoy the holiday break and take care of yourselves and your whānau.
Blessings,
Mrs. Tina Takimoana
Acting Principal
Verse for the week:

Covid19 Protection Framework changes - Red to Orange setting
You’ll be aware that Minister of Education Chris Hipkins has announced the move to Orange at 11:59 pm last night.
The decision to move to Orange has been made on public health advice and reflects that we are moving past the peak of cases and our health system is able to cope. We are seeing that cases are declining due to high levels of vaccination and natural immunity after infection.
At Orange, face masks are no longer required at school. However public health advice is that masks continue to be strongly encouraged when indoors. Wearing a mask is a key health measure that slows the spread of COVID-19 in indoor settings.
Some other key points at Orange:
Any student or staff member who wishes to wear a face mask at Orange should be encouraged and supported to do so.
Face masks also continue to be required for students aged 12 and above on school and public transport.
Assemblies and other activities with large numbers of students can occur. If these activities take place, they should be in well-ventilated areas or outdoors.
There are no restrictions on numbers of visitors on-site.

Teaching Staff Recruitment
Interviews are currently being conducted to employ staff for the additional roles in the Secondary school. Careful planning and strategic allocation in the timetable is a work in progress. Outcomes of these interviews will be notified to whānau as soon as possible.

Keep us in the loop
Please remember to contact Bobbie in our office if you have a positive case in your household so she can record attendance correctly. If whānau are isolating for 7 days, we can supply some kai and learning material to support you and your family.
Unwell/sick children
This past week we’ve had a rapid increase in the number of children who have become sick and unwell while they’ve been at school. If your own child has been sick and is still showing symptoms (runny nose, coughing, sneezing, etc.), please keep them at home until they have fully recovered. They have the potential to pass on and infect other children or the teacher in their class. Teachers are encouraged to take a RAT to ensure they are not sick. We appreciate your support in helping us to reduce the spread of infections.
All Fees Due 20th April 2022
Due date for all fees is the 20th Of April. Please contact A.K via email dues@ktabundantlife.org.nz or call 02041394591
Kaitaia Golf Club Free Junior Coaching
We are holding some coaching sessions for juniors (6-18yrs old) starting in Term 2 at our top class course in Ahipara. We have the coaches, golfing equipment and resources as well as the time and energy to help them learn to play the game. All they need to do is to bring some enthusiasm.
The course will run for the whole school Term, from 3.30pm, one afternoon each week (day yet to be confirmed). It will also continue in Term 3 if they wish to go to the next level. Then in Term 4 it will go up another level. There will also be the opportunity to play games on weekends.
Does this sound like something your child could be interested in?
