Weekly Update

McCord Messenger 1/09/23 to 1/13/23

Yesterday was our first club meeting day. Our students were given the opportunity to provide feedback regarding club offerings for the second semester. Our clubs will meet every two weeks during the second semester & we run an adjusted schedule on those days. Students who did not show an interest in participating in a club could utilize that time to work on any homework or assignments for their classes. I have our clubs listed below so you can see what choices our students came up with:

  • archery club
  • book club
  • computer science/coding club
  • crochet club
  • disc golf club
  • diversity/international club
  • drama club
  • game club
  • movie club
  • school news club
  • scrabble club
  • student council
  • wordle club
  • yearbook club

Hello 8th Grade Families,

Worthington Kilbourne High School is excitedly anticipating your student joining us next school year. During the month of January there will be two welcoming events for current 8th graders from McCord, Perry, and Phoenix Middle Schools.

On January 18th, we will be welcoming 8th grade students for elective course presentations and a building tour. This will take place during the school day.

On the evening of January 25th, we will hold Transition & Curriculum Night from 7:00-8:45 at WKHS. Our Transition & Curriculum Night gives parents and students the opportunity to receive first-hand information about the courses and programs offered at the high school level.

More information will be forthcoming in January. We wanted you to be able to save the date before the new year.

PACK Behavior Expectations

We wanted to review our PACK expectations for students now that we are well into the second quarter of the school year. Our students have done a great job but it is always good to keep our expectations front and center. We expect students to display these traits in all areas of our building, on the athletic fields, courts and mats and most importantly in the community and at home. Our assist teachers will be reviewing these with our students prior to holiday break. It would be great if you (parents) can review these with your student at home.
