Works of Mercy- Service Project
Corpus Christi Catholic School students are honoring St. Francis of Assisi during the month of October by collecting donations to be given to Houston Pets Alive!, an extraordinary rescue program whose mission is to save at risk animals and place them in their fur-ever homes. The shelter is deeply grateful for all donations that students collect. If you are interested in fulfilling any special needs for the shelter, requests for cats includes KMR (kitten milk replacer) for new born kittens, "mother and baby cat" canned and dry food (Royal Canin is very nutritious). For dogs, small-medium breed puppy kibble (some preferred brands for nutrition include Purina Pro Plan, Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Nutro, and Eukanuba). Clip leashes and small-medium Martingale collars are also welcomed. For more donation details, items can be viewed at bit.ly/hpawishlist.
Donations can be dropped off during morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up throughout October. A specially marked bin is also located in the church. Thank you for your support!
The Fund for Corpus Christi Catholic School
Please prayerfully consider how you can contribute to The Fund. Your letter with additional information and pledge cards will be arriving in your mailbox soon. Please fill out your pledge card and send your payment or pledge to the school office or donate online at www.corpuschristihouston.org. PayPal now available.
Your gift is appreciated!
WHAT IS THE FUND?
The Fund was established as a way to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of educating our students; tuition revenues do not cover the entire operating budget of the school. Annual gifts from parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends impact the school’s general operating budget, providing the most flexible use of funds.
WHY NOT JUST RAISE TUITION?
Corpus Christi Catholic School works hard to keep costs down so that we can continue to be as affordable as possible. This provides opportunities for all families who want their children to be guided through faith, learning, and leadership. Gifts to The Fund are voluntary and are therefore tax-deductible, unlike tuition.
WHY IS PARENT PARTICIPATION SO IMPORTANT?
Every year we strive to achieve a goal of 100% participation from our families. CCCS is able to more fully participate in granting opportunities when we demonstrate that our parent community goes above and beyond to invest in the CCCS mission. Potential grantors look for this commitment when they consider applications.
DOES MY GIFT REALLY MATTER?
YES! Every gift, regardless of size, makes a difference because it shows support for CCCS. Your gift is an expression of confidence and is important in maintaining the quality and affordability of a Corpus Christi Catholic School education.
HOW ARE THESE FUNDS USED?
Gifts to the Annual Fund support classroom enhancements and experience for our students such as:
- Creative learning platforms
- Innovative technology
- Heightened safety and cleaning measures
- Research-based professional development for teachers
Steps for Students
The Steps for Students 5K is an annual event benefiting the 56 Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston- Houston promoting support and awareness for Catholic education. Due to the global pandemic, we will not be able to gather for the race in person downtown as usual in 2021. You can still support Catholic education by participating in the virtual event hosted by Corpus Christi Catholic School. All funds raised by Corpus Christi registrations and sponsorships support CCCS.
Registration opens on Wednesday, October 7th! New this year - a discounted price of $15 to the first 1000 registrants before the end of October. Register at STEPS4STUDENTS.org and select "Corpus Christi Catholic School" for your team.
Help plan Corpus Christi’s virtual event! Contact Susan Miller, firstname.lastname@example.org to join the CCCS Steps for Students committee.
