Panther Post
September 25th - September 30th
Hello Lopez Families,
In case you missed my previous email, I want to invite you to a very important presentation on the dangers of social media hosted at Reagan High School Monday evening. The presenters are actual FBI agents who work in the field. Please see the bottom of this post for more information. This is for parents only, the kids will see something else during the year.
Also further down in this letter is a section for Leader In Me. We have included a "parent connect," which is a way for you to follow up with them at home and keep the momentum going. It may even benefit you!
If you haven't seen any of our football or volleyball games, you really should come out and see our kids compete. They are amazing!
I want to thank our local businesses that I have listed below and our PTA for donating towards our teacher appreciation efforts. We have such a wonderful community that really believes in education and being a part of it's efforts.
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mr. Wernli

Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind means to think about how you would like something to turn out before you get started. If you do not know where you are going, it is hard to know if you are going in the right direction. Taking time to plan will help you know if you are heading on the correct path and being proactive or not planning with the result of being reactive. Lopez students are setting personal and academic goals. Begin with the end in mind!”
Ask your child what goals they have set.

SHARPEN THE SAW
As we bid greetings to the 2017-2018 school year and good-bye to Summer 2017, it is good to reflect on our accomplishments. Our community is comprised of hard working, highly devoted people. As we work hard, we also take time to reward ourselves (Sharpen the Saw). Won’t you please share your experiences of how you have sharpened your saw by sending family photos of events and vacations you have enjoyed recently with Lopez Middle School?
Please share your photos by emailing them to Mr. Toback at ftobac@neisd.net or by bringing developed pictures to Lopez Middle School. The pictures can be grayscale or color. They will be displayed inside the school for all to enjoy.
