Return to In-Person Instruction
Cambrian School District, February 24, 2021
Dear Cambrian Families,
We have been thoughtful in adapting this school year to the changing requirements from our local and state public health departments in an effort to return to in-person learning. We are grateful for your patience, flexibility and partnership as we’ve been methodically preparing to return to in-person learning. The good news is we are well prepared for returning to in-person instruction.
As of yesterday, Santa Clara County dropped to 6.7 cases per 100,000 people, which is a great improvement. In order to move into the Red Tier, we must demonstrate two consecutive weeks of progress in the Red Tier *(less than 7 cases per 100,000 people) for our adjusted case rate. If we continue on our current trend, our county will officially be placed in the Red Tier next week on March 2nd. As such, we are preparing for return to in-person instruction starting March 8th.
* Guidance recently changed
What is the new Hybrid Schedule for in-person learning?
Please refer to the Hybrid Schedules below for general information about the hybrid schedules. As always, please reach out to your child’s school and teacher for more specific information regarding the actual instructional schedule for your child.
Your in-person day was communicated out by your teacher or school site in early 2021. If you have any questions regarding your child’s specific day please contact your child’s teacher or school office.
What happens if my student cannot attend on their designated in-person day?
For students who are not able to attend on their in-person assigned cohort days due to related COVID-19 quarantine, contact tracing requirements and/or are not ready to return to in-person instruction, students will Zoom with their class for live synchronous instruction during that specified time. All teachers will use Zoom with students who cannot attend on their designated in-person cohort day. Please note that Zoom is not intended to accommodate family travel during their student assigned in-person days or a substitute for distance learning for the remainder of the school year.
Safely Returning to In-Person Learning and Instruction
Our Cambrian COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP) and COVID-19 Prevention Plan based on the most recent guidance and requirements released on January 14th from the California Department of Public Health are accessible on the Cambrian School District Website. It is important that you take the time to review it so you are well aware of all the protocols and procedures that have been put in place in the Cambrian School District.
Your school site principals will also be reaching out to go over site specific information as we look forward to welcoming students back on campus. Thank you for your patience, support and collaboration as we work together to return our students back to in-person learning as soon as possible. This is a very exciting time to welcome our students back to our campuses in the near future.
