Big picture
The pandemic curtailed many of the women's suffrage celebrations for 2020. The 2021 National women's history Alliance extended the 2020 theme updating it to "valiant Women of the Vote; Refusing to be silenced." Information from 2020's theme can be found here http://www.2020Centennial.org.

President Jimmy Carter designated March 2-8, 1980 as National Women's History Week. In 1987 Congress passed Public Law 100-9 which designated March as "women's History Month." In 1994 Congress passed an additional resolution to proclaim March as Women's History Month since then every president has signed a proclamation letter in March.
