Women's History Month
President Jimmy Carter designated March 2-8, 1980 as National Women's History Week. In 1987 Congress passed Public Law 100-9 which designated March as "women's History Month." In 1994 Congress passed an additional resolution to proclaim March as Women's History Month since then every president has signed a proclamation letter in March.
