Ready to Celebrate!

Greetings Grizzly Families,


We're in the home stretch and we're so proud of our students for finishing strong! We have many fun plans in these final days to celebrate our hard work and determination to do our best through this unusual school year. We're so proud of the hard work of our students!

Thank you so much for your continued support this school year! Garwood continues to be a great place to learn because we are supported by such a wonderful community. Have a safe and fun summer!

Important for Parents & Guardians

Lost & Found

PLEASE encourage your student to check out the lost and found before the last day of school. It is overflowing with jackets, lunchboxes and other items that we would love to see returned. All items will be donated after the last day of school.

Reminder about Changes in Student Plans

Thank you for keeping us up to date with changes in your student's schedule or routine!


Please call the office by 9:00 am if your student will be late or out for the day.

Please call the office by 2:15 pm for changes in student pickup.


You can reach us any time at (208)-687-1265. Thank you for keeping us up-to-date!


NEXT YEAR: We are changing up our protocol so that we can be better prepared to get students where they need to go at the end of the day. Watch for more information on the details and please note that next year, ALL CHANGES IN PLANS WILL NEED TO BE TO THE OFFICE BY 12:30 PM.

  • Friday, June 4th- 5th Grade visit to Lakeland Junior High School & 5th Grade "Day of Fun"


  • Tuesday, June 8th- "School Wide Transition Day"-

All students will visit a classroom of the next grade level to learn more about what their experience will be next year! (Students will not be split up by who their teacher will be next year)


  • Wednesday, June 9th- Field Day!

Thank you to all of our volunteers through PTO to make this fun day happen! Students should come prepared to spend a lot of time in the sun! Sunscreen, water bottles & a hat are recommended.



  • Friday, June 11th- Last Day of School! Grizzle Concert & 5th Grade Talent Show

Parents & Families, feel free to join us on the grass for our annual concert from the famous "Grizzle" band! We plan to start the concert at 12:30. (Please note: students will go back to their classrooms from the concert until release from school at 1:30, parents will not be able to join students in the classroom for the final 30 minutes of school)




  • Wednesday, June 16th- Report Cards & Final Grades will be available on Family Access on Skyward

What's Going on at Garwood

Garwood Staff Member of the Month

Our Garwood staff member of the month is Mrs. Ziesmer! Mrs. Z takes care of all things books & literacy at Garwood Elementary. This year she has adapted to the library being "closed", and still checked out over 6,800 books to our students! Thank you so much for being a wonderful contribution to our school, Mrs. Z!

Mark your Calendars! In-Person Student Registration: August 18th & 19th

Please mark your calendars for in-person registration on August 18th or 19th. We will be open the following times to register new students and re-enroll existing students:


Wednesday, August 18th- 9am-4pm

Thursday, August 19th- 12pm-7pm

Do you have an incoming Kindergartener? Save the Date!

On Thursday, August 19th from 9-11, we will hold a back to school event just for our incoming Kindergarteners! Students & their parents will join our Kindergarten team for a tour of classrooms & the school, activities and fun!


The goal of our Kindergarten open house is that all new kindergarteners have the opportunity to come to the first day of school prepared to learn and with a new friend before the first day.
