Bay Creek Beat

May 14, 2021

Greetings Parents and Guardians,

Can you believe we have only eight remaining days for this school year? This year has indeed been one for the record books. We are proud of the work our teachers, support staff, and students have accomplished to meet state standards and the GCPS curriculum for grades 6-8. We are truly grateful for all of the efforts that have gone into this year. Our teachers thank you for the partnership during the synchronous and asynchronous learning. As we are nearing the end of the semester, we want to share some essential year-end items.

Report Cards
Gwinnett County Public Schools will begin mailing Report Cards the week of May 29. In addition, transcripts will be available on your Parent Portal account. You also have access to reset your password in case you forgot.

Yearbook Distribution:

  • In-Person Students
Ms. Cvorovic will deliver the yearbooks to their homeroom on Monday, May 17. Each yearbook has a sticker with the student's name on the back. Students will be asked to sign for the yearbook when they receive it. If the student was absent today, then they will receive the yearbook next week.

  • Digital Students
If a DL student purchased a yearbook, they may pick it up from the front desk Receptionist starting on Monday. Please look for an email from Ms. Cvorovic notifying you about the yearbook.

Medication Pickup

  • If your student has any medication in the BCMS clinic, you or an adult on the emergency check-out list must retrieve it before the last day of school.
  • All medications that are not picked up by 3:30 pm on Wednesday, May 26 will be discarded. Please remember the students are not allowed to transport medication.
  • If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Amber Edington at (678) 344-7570.

Technology Tip

Google Docs from people leaving Gwinnett County

  • REMINDER to all staff and students: If someone who is leaving Gwinnett county shared a Google Doc with you, it will be automatically deleted after May 26. Please make a personal copy or move the document to your Google Drive so you will continue to have access to it.

  • Google Takeout is our recommended method for staff and students leaving the district to take Drive files with them. Users can navigate to https://takeout.google.com/ and follow the onscreen instructions. Once access is lost there will be no way to obtain files.

7th Grade

Ms. Debbie Trevino, Assistant Principal

Although there were many challenging this year, I believe we are made to do hard things and we grow in those moments. It is truly in those hard moments that we become wiser, stronger, and better people. I am very proud of our students for their perseverance throughout this year. Parents, I want to thank you for supporting your child to do his/her best and not allowing your child to give up and walk away (or turn off the computer) from a fine education. I also want to thank the parents for the support of our teachers throughout this year. Our teachers have spent many hours and energy creating engaging lessons and teaching our students. I can guarantee you that each 7th-grade teacher loves teaching our Bay Creek students, and they are looking forward to having our students back in the building next year. I wish you all a fun summertime filled with making memories with family and friends.
